Gene Averkiou is the field director of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research's UF Survey Research Center (UFSRC). Gene has been employed with the UFSRC for 13 years. He is responsible for managing and overseeing the lab which includes all decision making in regards to lab operations and budgeting for 10 supervisors and 100+ telephone interviewers. He is also the project manager for the Consumer Confidence Index each month as well as other studies.

Gene has a B.A. in History at the University of Florida and an Executive Leadership Graduate Certificate specializing in Nonprofits.
