James F. Dewey, Ph.D.
Dr. Dewey has served as Director of Economic Analysis at the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Florida since 2005, having worked there since receiving his Ph.D. in economics in 1998. Much of his work focuses on the interrelations between local labor and housing markets and public policies pertaining to diverse topics such as property taxation, impact fees, education, job structure, and economic development. His work has been published in peer reviewed journals such as Regional Science and Urban Economics, Economics of Education Review, the Journal of Teacher Education, and Exceptional Children. He has authored dozens of technical reports as part of over $2 million of externally funded research at BEBR, has served as a consultant on numerous other projects, and was named Warrington College of Business Administration teacher of the year for 2009-2010.
