Florida’s consumer sentiment index for the first half of February lost one point from January’s revised figure but was four points greater than the February 2013 reading. Of the five survey responses recorded, three decreased and two increased in the beginning of February. Perceptions of personal financial situations compared to a year ago decreased four points to 62. Expectations of personal financial situation one year from now lost four points to end at 76. Expectations of national economic conditions over the next one year and five years increased three and two points to 79 and 83, respectively. Lastly, perceptions of whether it was a good time to buy major household items lost one point to finish at 85.
