Summary:
Florida's initial claims for unemployment insurance dropped by about 900 in the week ending June 16, when compared with the week prior. Although this is welcome after last weeks increase, the four-week moving average increased to 16,908--marking four consecutive weeks of advancement for the moving average, which picks up on trends more than the weekly figure. Likewise, continued claims increased for the second week in a row--rising to 137,302--likely due to the fact that weekly claims have been trending upward.
